VANADIUM REDOX FLOW BATTERIES

battery sky wind solar.jpg

Flow batteries are the likely to be one of the most commercially-viable technologies for long-term energy storage in Australia. Vanadium redox flow batteries are particularly promising given the electrolyte’s sustainability, durability and recoverability. The technology is proven and ready to scale, and Australia has some of the richest vanadium deposits in the world.

Our teams are focused on developing and optimising the major areas of flow battery technology including: electrolyte production and optimisation, cell component materials and testing, cell and stack designs for improved power density, increasing energy density, performance testing, advanced monitoring and control including power modulation, and exploring alternate chemistries (e.g., iron-iron flow battery).
